William F. Herholtz III, Au.D., is a Board-Certified Doctor of Audiology and the president of First Choice Audiology and Hearing Care. He currently cares for patients at the 21st Street Office. His duties include taking care of patients, staff development, and administration of the Corporation.

After completing his bachelor’s degree "Bill" joined the family practice in 1995. One year later, he put his career on hold and attended Arizona State University for two years earning his master’s degree in Audiology. Bill then earned his Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Florida and was the first Doctor of Audiology to practice in Colorado Springs.

He is a clinically certified member of the American Speech and Hearing Association, the American Academy of Audiology, the Colorado Academy of Audiology, and the Academy of Dispensing Audiologists.

Bill and his wife Lara enjoy skiing, scuba diving, golf, and mountain biking in the great outdoors.

William F. DeHaan III, BC-HIS, joined the First Choice Team in 1999. Bill currently treats patients daily in Canon City, Colorado at 115 N. 8^th St..

As a second generation Board-Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist, Bill is very knowledgeable and provides professional hearing care. Additionally, he is a member of the International Hearing Society and the Colorado Hearing Society that keeps him abrest of the latest technology in hearing care.

Bill has his Bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado @ Boulder. He enjoys skiing, mountain biking, and automobiles.

Kurt F. Smith, Au.D., currently takes care of patients daily at the Maizeland location of First Choice Audiology and Hearing Care. Kurt is clinically certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association and holds his Doctorate in Audiology from the Arizona School of Health Sciences. Even though he is a native of Colorado, Kurt has been practicing in West Palm Beach, Florida, for the past seven years.

After practicing in Florida for many years Kurt returned to Colorado for family reasons and joined the First Choice team in 2001. We are privileged to have him on staff. Kurt was first drawn to this profession because his mother had a hearing loss most of her life. Once she began using hearing aids he noticed how her life has been more fulfilling and wanted to help others in the same way. Kurt brings a very caring and sincere attitude to our practice and has the clinical skills to go along with it. He has extensive experience fitting and programming today’s latest hearing aid technology by Siemens, Starkey, Phonak, and Sonic Innovations and takes pride in doing a good job for his patient’s.

Kurt will be serving patients from our Maizeland location on a full-time basis.
